Real-time caption sync for live classroom lectures and events. CaptionSync is a web app that generates and displays live captions for lectures, talks, and events in real-time using speech-to-text, then lets deaf and hard-of-hearing students follow along on their own device with automatic speaker identification and searchable transcripts. Teams can deploy it in a classroom or auditorium by running a lightweight backend that captures audio from a mic or AV system and broadcasts captions to connected phones/tablets. We built it because most universities' captioning services require days of advance notice and expensive third-party vendors; this gives students instant, portable access during any event.
