On-device hand gesture recognition for offline accessibility. A mobile app that runs pose detection locally on-device to translate American Sign Language into real-time text captions—no internet required. Built with TensorFlow Lite and trained on a dataset of common ASL phrases, it lets Deaf users communicate with hearing peers even in areas with poor connectivity. The model runs at 30fps on mid-range phones and includes a simple phrase library that expands as users add custom signs.
